About us

why this club?

This club is for those who love reading and have always wanted to read in the Original to feel the style of the author.

The club is a great way to brush up on your English.

You will immerse into the language, learn vocabulary and grammar, and sharpen your speaking skills.

why short stories?

It might be a bit of a challenge to start reading in the original from bigger genres.

Reading something small at first gives you a sense of achievement. So it is motivational and rewarding.

Another reason is our attention span which, according to British Scientists, is becoming shorter and shorter. It is getting harder for us to focus on a long read. And also not everyone has enough time to read a lot.

With all this in mind, we decided to take it one step at a time.
However, we are definitely planning to launch a Reading Club for those who like reading novels. Just a bit later.

what is inside?

You can look up new words in our built-in dictionary and then save them to your personal dictionary and learn them using a special vocabulary-learning gaming application.

Also, we have AI that will show you how to use words correctly in context.

All complex grammatical issues are explained.

After each meeting you can view a script of everything you said with comments on what can be improved.

We have a very friendly atmosphere, so you will feel comfortable and safe to speak in a foreign language and express your ideas.

This project is not just a book club or a language platform, but a community of likeminded people.

what short stories?

Our main club is Ongoing where we read and discuss carefully chosen short stories.

It covers the whole 20th century literary paradigm from the modernistic pieces of the early 1920-s to post-modernistic stories of the 1980-s and the latest pieces from the 21st century.

If you don't yet feel comfortable enough, you can opt for the Easy Reading Club. It includes both contemporary and classic short stories. None of them is adapted or abridged. They are just simplier when it comes to the language.

From time to time we run special clubs like only science fiction, or only classics like Steinbeck and Faulkner.
